A round 34mm case in gold PVD-coated stainless steel keeps proportions neat on the wrist. The smooth, fixed bezel frames a champagne dial patterned with Burberry's engraved check, with gold-tone stick indexes marking the hours and a date window at three o'clock. The sapphire crystal sits above three hands in a matching gold tone. The 16mm gold PVD bracelet closes with a push-button deployment clasp and carries the same finish throughout. Thomas Burberry opened a draper's shop in Basingstoke in 1856 and invented gabardine in 1879 — a breathable weatherproof fabric that clothed Antarctic expeditions and British officers in the trenches. The trench coat is his.
The watches are produced under licence and carry the house check on dials and straps, with Swiss quartz and automatic movements in generally restrained cases.
