Seiko King Seiko KSK 'Olive Suede' 38.3mm Mens Watch Green
Ref. SPB391J1
Sits in Seiko’s upper tier here — more premium than three quarters of the Seiko watches we list, which start at £110.
Price range £110 to £3,550 across 106 Seiko watches in stock. The original King Seiko emerged from an internal rivalry that Seiko engineered deliberately — setting separate teams against each other in the early 1960s to drive precision forward through competition. That tension produced some of the sharpest case geometry in Japanese watchmaking, and the KSK silhouette here is a direct inheritance of it: the stepped lugs and hard-polished edges that made the original distinctive are carried forward intact, with the olive dial offering the one concession to the present moment. That dial rewards attention in changing light. The vertical hairline finishing shifts between muted and metallic depending on the angle, and the halo gradation around the edge deepens the sense of depth without complicating the read — the indices remain clean at a glance. At 38.3mm the proportions sit closer to the original's intent than many modern reissues dare to, which means it wears with less wrist presence than the case photographs suggest. The bracelet releases by squeezing two levers at the back of the end-piece, which is genuinely quick in use rather than a detail that sounds useful and proves otherwise. Beneath the caseback the 6R55 runs a 72-hour reserve, so a watch worn Monday and set down for the weekend will still be running on return.
