Bamford B80 Modern 39mm Mens Watch - Black And Blue
Ref. B80-MOD-BLK-AQU
A 39mm titanium case keeps the B80 Modern compact and lightweight, measuring 10.5mm thick with a 48mm lug-to-lug span. The matte black dial carries Arabic numerals, indices, and rectangular hands in aqua blue, with white Super-LumiNova applied to the hands. The sapphire crystal features an anti-glare coating. Power comes from a Sellita SW300-1 automatic, running at 28,800vph with a 56-hour power reserve and 25 jewels. A textile strap with dual-toned stitching completes the watch, which is water resistant to 100 metres.

Learn more about Bamford
George Bamford started Bamford Watch Department in London in 2004, customising watches that their makers had no intention of seeing customised — blacked-out cases in military-grade PVD, recoloured dials, personalised details. The industry's response was frosty, and in some cases openly hostile.
Then the position changed. LVMH signed Bamford as an official customisation partner for TAG Heuer, Zenith and Bulgari in 2017, making legitimate what had been a grey-market practice, and Bamford became the first company officially licensed to customise Rolex watches through authorised channels.
Bamford London followed as a brand in its own right, producing its own watches rather than modifying others': the Mayfair and GMT lines, quartz and automatic, at a fraction of the price of the watches the workshop had built its name on.
The design vocabulary is consistent — bright accent colours, sandblasted cases, a certain irreverence about watchmaking convention — and the collaborations have run from Aston Martin to popular culture licences.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.
Water resistance explainedWill the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Sapphire, mineral and acrylic comparedDoes it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — the motion of your wrist winds it, and there is no cell to replace.
Quartz, automatic and solar comparedHow long does it run for when it's not worn?
About 56 hours fully wound — enough to survive a night off the wrist, but not a full weekend.
What size strap does it take?
20mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Will it fit my wrist?
Lug-to-lug is 48mm, which suits wrists from roughly 16.5cm (6½ inches) upward.
Lug-to-lug decides fit more than case diameter does.
How to size a watch to your wristIs it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's, though at 39mm it sits in the range that suits anyone.
