Sekonda Beaumont 40mm Mens Watch White
Ref. 30246
Sits in Sekonda’s upper tier here — more premium than three quarters of the Sekonda watches we list, which start at £20.
Price range £20 to £100 across 145 Sekonda watches in stock.A clean vintage-dress formula — white dial, Roman numerals, blue hands — executed in a case that is genuinely slim at 8mm. That thinness is the practical point: at 40mm wide it occupies the wrist naturally, but it is the profile that lets it disappear under a buttoned cuff rather than riding above it. The bracelet closes on a push-button deployant, which keeps the fit consistent day to day in a way a folding clasp with a single position cannot. Link removal is straightforward with standard pin tools, so getting the fit right is a one-time task rather than something that requires a watchmaker.

Learn more about Sekonda
Sekonda was created in 1966, not as a manufacturer but as an export label. The Soviet state watch combine ChasProm needed a name under which to sell its output in the West, and Sekonda became that name — watches built at the First Moscow Watch Factory and the Petrodvorets Watch Factory in Leningrad, arriving in British shops as Sekonda rather than Poljot or Raketa.
That origin explains a curiosity of the vintage market: open a late-1960s Sekonda and you will often find a Poljot movement inside, stamped Made in USSR.
The quartz era changed the arrangement. Cheap, accurate Japanese movements undercut Soviet mechanical production, and after the breakup of the Soviet Union the brand cut its Russian ties entirely, moving manufacturing to Hong Kong in 1993.
What did not change was the position: reliable watches at prices most people do not have to think about. Sekonda had become the leading watch brand in the UK by 1988 and has stayed there, selling over a million watches a year, with Seksy, One and Xpose covering fashion and outdoor styles.
The brand is owned by Time Products, which also owns Accurist and Limit.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Showering yes, swimming no. 50m covers splashes and brief immersion, but a swimming stroke generates well above the pressure that figure describes.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
22mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's, though at 40mm it sits in the range that suits anyone.
Cheapest place to buy
Both Goldsmiths and F.Hinds list it at £55, so choose on delivery and warranty rather than price.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
