The Marlin is Timex's mid-century American workhorse, a design that ran through the 1960s before being quietly retired and then revived in the 2010s as a platform for small-run collaborations. This Peanuts edition pairs it with one of Charles Schulz's more unexpectedly cool images: Snoopy at the saxophone, rendered on a silver sunray dial that shifts between flat grey and polished silver depending on the angle of the light. The musical notes pressed into the leather strap are a small touch, but they carry the collaboration through to the wrist rather than leaving it at the dial alone. At 40mm across and 13mm deep, this is a full-sized watch with some presence, and the 47.8mm lug-to-lug means it fills a medium to large wrist without crowding it. The domed acrylic crystal is period-correct for the Marlin's era and catches the light in the rounded way that flat sapphire cannot. The exhibition caseback lets the automatic movement run visibly — 21 jewels at 21,600 vph with a 40-hour reserve and a hacking seconds hand — which on a watch this cheerful in character feels like a genuine bonus rather than a formality.
