The Seastar name goes back to 1954, when Tissot introduced a caseback engineered to seal against moisture — a preoccupation that eventually became the marque of a whole line built around water resistance. The modern Seastar 1000 Chronograph carries that logic to its conclusion: screw-down crown, screw-down pushers that prevent accidental chronograph activation at depth, and a case rated to 300 metres. The quartz movement is a deliberate choice here rather than a concession — the ETA G10.212 keeps daily variation within ±0.1 seconds and adds an end-of-life indicator, both useful properties in a watch that might actually go diving. At 45.5mm this is an unambiguously large watch, but the downturned lugs and 12.8mm profile — kept slim by the quartz calibre — mean it settles against the wrist rather than sitting proud of it. The grey dial and grey textile-over-rubber strap give this variant a more restrained reading than the colour-forward versions in the range; the orange accent comes in only on the aluminium bezel, where it marks the elapsed-time scale. The convex sapphire, double-AR coated on both faces, keeps the sub-dials — 1/10-second, 60-second, 30-minute — legible at an angle without glare competing with them.
