The Le Locle collection was created in honour of Tissot's 150th anniversary and named for the Swiss Jura town where the brand has been based since its founding — the church clock there is said to have been the inspiration for the silver dial's patterning. Roman numerals, baton markers, and a discreet date at three o'clock make the connection clear without being laboured. At 25.30mm with a domed sapphire crystal, this sits firmly in the territory of a watch that reads as jewellery without abandoning legibility. The rose gold PVD coating runs through both the case and the two-tone bracelet, giving the combination a coherence that a mismatched metal pairing would undermine. The exhibition caseback is worth a look: the automatic movement inside is visible through engraved surrounds, which is an uncommon touch at this end of the Le Locle range.
