Stepping up in Vivienne Westwood's range
Named after London's Wallace Collection, this watch takes its green dial directly from Fragonard's The Swing — the rococo painting of a woman on a garden swing that has hung in Hertford House since the nineteenth century. The jacquard-etched surface recreates the texture of the work rather than simply printing it, and the Swarovski crystals that ring the bezel and mark the hours read as an extension of that decorative language rather than an addition to it. At 32mm with a 9.36mm case depth it sits neatly on smaller wrists without disappearing, and the all-gold PVD bracelet — multi-link, with a butterfly clasp folded into the underside — keeps the whole thing flush and unobtrusive. The green dial shifts noticeably as the light changes angle, which is where the etched finish earns its place.

Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren opened a shop at 430 King's Road in 1971, and over the next few years it became the outfitter of British punk. Westwood went on to become one of the most decorated designers Britain has produced, with the orb logo — a sovereign's orb with a Saturn ring — as the house signature from 1987.
The watches are licensed rather than made in-house, produced under agreement by a British accessories manufacturer and sold through department stores and jewellers.
They carry the house language directly: the orb on the crown or the dial, tartan and heritage-check straps, asymmetric cases, and a willingness to be decorative that most watch brands avoid. Quartz movements, fashion pricing.
Westwood died in 2022. The house continues, and the watch line with it.
