Zenith Chronomaster Original Steel 38mm Mens Watch Grey
Ref. 03.3400.3610/39.M3200
Sits in Zenith’s upper tier here — more premium than three quarters of the Zenith watches we list, which start at £7,000.
Price range £7,000 to £28,000 across 43 Zenith watches in stock. The El Primero movement is the reason this watch exists in the form it takes. Zenith introduced it in 1969 as one of the first automatic chronograph calibres, and the 3610 generation maintains its defining characteristic: a 36,000 vibrations-per-hour beat rate that allows the chronograph to resolve to a tenth of a second, with the central hand sweeping the full dial once every ten seconds. That capability sits here alongside a triple calendar and moonphase, making the watch a genuine grand complication in a case that at 38mm wears closer to a dress watch than a sporting one. The slate-grey sunburst dial is busier than it first appears — day, date, and month apertures share space with three sub-dials and a moonphase at six — but the rose gold-plated hands and indices pull it together against the silver-white counters, and the metallic blue moonphase disc with its polished rose gold moon is the detail that catches angled light most unexpectedly. The exhibition caseback lets the 3610 remain visible, which is worth having when the movement is this well regarded.
