Stepping up in Aston Martin's range
The Icon HDL line is Aston Martin's attempt to transpose the visual language of its cars directly onto the wrist — not through a logo on a plain dial but through structure. The black dial carries a hexagonal grid lifted from the radiator grille treatment that has defined the front face of the cars for decades, and the engraved wings sit within that texture rather than on top of it. At 42mm across and 12mm deep, it wears as a substantial casual piece, and at 158 grams the bracelet has real presence on the wrist. The sub-dials for day and 24-hour display are doing genuine work rather than decorative duty — the layout gives a GMT function a logical home without requiring a separate hand to chase around the main chapter ring.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
19mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
