The Icon line is where Bulova demonstrates what quartz can do when it is taken seriously. The Precisionist movement inside runs at 262kHz — eight times the frequency of a standard quartz oscillator — which gives it sweep-second motion rather than the usual tick, and chronograph accuracy to a tenth of a second. At 46mm the case is built for presence, and the blue PVD coating with orange and blue dial accents makes no attempt at subtlety. The 300 metres water resistance is genuine diver depth on a watch that reads more like a sport chronograph than a dive tool — that rating signals structural seriousness more than underwater intention.
