The D-Era takes its oval case from Diesel's own "D" logo, which makes the watch less a traditional timepiece and more a piece of branded hardware worn on the wrist. At 19mm wide and 39mm lug-to-lug, the footprint is narrow and elongated — closer to a rigid cuff than a conventional case — and the bracelet integrates directly into it, so the whole thing reads as a single continuous object in gold-toned steel rather than a watch on a bracelet. On the wrist it sits flat and unobtrusive, the sunray dial catching light differently as the arm moves. The deployant closure is a more considered fastening than the piece's fashion positioning might suggest, and the link construction means sizing is adjustable with standard pin tools rather than a proprietary system.
