Diesel built the BAMF line for people who want a watch that reads from across the room — the name is not subtle, and neither is 52mm of gold PVD steel on the wrist. This is a deliberate rejection of restraint, a chronograph designed to occupy space rather than disappear under a cuff. At that diameter, the layered black dial has room to do what multi-register chronograph dials are supposed to do: create depth and visual weight that holds up to the scale of the case. The gold bracelet, running 24 to 26mm wide at the lugs, keeps the proportions coherent rather than letting the case float on something too narrow for it, and the deployant clasp means security without fuss on and off.

Renzo Rosso founded Diesel in Molvena in 1978, building a denim brand on deliberate irreverence. The watches, produced under licence by Fossil Group, carry that attitude directly.
Where most fashion watches aim for restraint, Diesel does the opposite: oversized cases frequently past 50mm, blacked-out finishes, exposed screws, multiple crowns, and dials that prioritise visual impact over legibility. The Mr Daddy models stack four time zones onto a single dial.
Whether that appeals is a matter of taste, but the design intent is consistent and unmistakable, which is more than can be said for much of the category.
