The Khaki Field line has long drawn on Hamilton's history of supplying military-grade instruments to armed forces, and the Expedition is where that brief gets taken furthest. Its distinguishing feature within the current range is the bidirectional compass bezel — no other Khaki Field in production carries one — paired with a screw-down crown that lifts the water resistance to a meaningful 100 metres. The result is a field watch that can be taken seriously outdoors rather than merely looked the part. At 41mm the case sits comfortably without demanding a large wrist, and the 48mm lug-to-lug keeps it seated rather than bridging. The compass bezel and the high-contrast satin dial add enough visual presence that the watch reads slightly larger than its measurements, which is not a criticism — it suits the character. The H-10 calibre inside is worth noting beyond its 80-hour power reserve: the Nivachron hairspring, a Swatch Group alloy, holds its rate against both magnetic fields and temperature swings, making it more resistant to the conditions the watch was designed for than most movements at this level. The syringe hands carry Super-LumiNova well; the printed Arabic numerals are somewhat less assertive in darkness, something an owner will observe in the first week.
