Stepping up in the same colour and case shape
The X-Wind line was built around the crosswind calculator — the rotatable bezel that lets a pilot work out drift angle before departure — and this version adds a GMT complication to the existing chronograph, making it one of the more genuinely functional aviation tools you can strap to a wrist. It also has a small piece of film history behind it: Simon Pegg wore this reference as Benji Dunn in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which sits well with a watch that was always meant to suggest operational seriousness rather than airshow glamour. At 46mm it makes no concession to understatement, and the deep blue dial carries a lot of information — chronograph sub-dials, a 24-hour GMT register, date window, and the Arabic numerals — without reading as crowded, partly because the layout follows the logic of the functions rather than decorative symmetry. The brown leather strap with white contrast stitching softens what is otherwise an uncompromising case, and wears better against the wrist than a bracelet would at this size.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
22mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.
