This one revives that convention in full: the front lid swings open to reveal a white dial carrying Roman numerals, royal blue hands, a second-zone sub-dial, a sun-and-moon day/night indicator, and a skeleton window through which the gear train is visible in motion. It is a great deal to look at, and the blue hands sweeping across it give the eye somewhere to settle. The 17-jewel hand-wound movement inside is the kind found in well-regarded traditional pocket watches — shock-protected, smooth in its action, wound by hand as the format has always required. Both outer lids are plain and polished, which makes them well suited to engraving if the watch is intended as a gift.
