The oval case front carries a floral engraving with a small shield that can be personalised, and the whole piece hangs from a 28-inch silver-plated chain, worn rather than carried. Inside, a white dial with black Roman numerals reads cleanly once the case is open and angled. The format suits occasional, considered use — checking the time becomes a small deliberate action, which is rather different from glancing at a wrist.
