Stepping up in the same dial colour
Founded in Oldham in 1884, Limit is one of the older names in British watchmaking, and the Classic collection sits squarely in that tradition — straightforward dress watches built for everyday legibility rather than complication. At 34mm the case sits low and compact, comfortable on slimmer wrists and easy under a shirt cuff. The white dial carries fully rendered blue Arabic numerals, which do the sensible thing of picking up the deep blue of the crocodile-grain PU strap — the two halves of the watch read as a considered pair rather than an assembly. The gold PVD case and matching pin buckle tie it together without demanding attention.

Learn more about Limit
Limit has been sold in Britain since 1912, and for most of that time it has occupied one position without much deviation: the cheapest watch in the shop that is still worth owning.
It sits under Time Products, the same ownership as Sekonda and Accurist, which gives all three shared sourcing and distribution across British jewellers, catalogue retailers and department stores.
The range is deliberately conservative — plain dials, Roman or baton markers, gold-plated and stainless cases, leather and bracelet straps, mostly quartz with a small number of mechanical models. Pocket watches remain part of the catalogue, which few brands can still say.
It is a first watch, a school watch, a work watch and a gift watch, and it has been all four for over a century without pretending to be anything else.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
16mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's, though at 34mm it sits in the range that suits anyone.
