The DolceVita traces its rectangular case back to a 1920s Longines original, and the proportions have remained largely intact through nearly a century of the line's evolution. The name borrows from Italian culture deliberately — this is a watch conceived around a certain idea of unhurried elegance, and the form follows that intent closely. At 20.8 × 32mm and 6.9mm deep, it sits flat and narrow on the wrist, reading closer to a fine bracelet than to a sports piece. The silver flinqué dial — engine-turned beneath the surface — catches light at angles that a plain dial does not, which gives the Roman numerals and the small seconds subdial at six o'clock something to sit against. Blued steel hands against that ground are a considered choice. The beige alligator leather strap is interchangeable without tools, so the watch is not committed to a single wardrobe.
