The PrimaLuna began in 2009 as Longines' deliberate response to a lineup that had long skewed toward men — a collection designed around the moon as a symbol of time's passage, introduced around the brand's 170th anniversary to bring genuine balance to the women's range. The 2025 redesign kept the collection's most distinctive feature, the 8mm lugs that give it an unusually slender wrist profile, while broadening the case body itself for a silhouette that reads as contemporary without abandoning what made the earlier models recognisable. This variant carries a sunray silver dial with blue Roman numerals and blued steel hands — a combination that changes character markedly in side-lit conditions, the sunray finish pulling depth from what might otherwise read as a plain silver surface. At 30mm with a 37mm lug-to-lug span, it sits unobtrusively on a smaller wrist, and the folding clasp with push-piece release makes one-handed removal more straightforward than the standard pinch mechanism most bracelets use.
