The Velocità Slim takes its name seriously: at 9.8mm thick, it sits considerably flatter than most 41mm chronographs, and that slimness is the whole proposition — a sports-inflected dial with tachymeter bezel and sub-dials that nonetheless disappears beneath a shirt cuff without a ridge. The gold PVD case pairs with a textured black dial in a combination that leans more towards the evening than the circuit, the warm tone of the indices and hands reading cleanly against the dark ground. The crocodile-patterned leather strap continues that dressy direction, the gold-tone tang buckle keeping the hardware consistent throughout.

The Maserati brothers founded their workshop in Bologna in 1914 and built racing cars that won the Targa Florio and the Indianapolis 500. The trident emblem comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
The watches are a licensed line produced by Morellato Group in Italy, not by the carmaker. They draw openly on automotive design: tachymeter bezels, perforated leather straps recalling racing gloves, dashboard-style dials, and case shapes referencing grilles and instrument binnacles.
Movements are quartz and bought-in automatic. The appeal is the association and the styling rather than the mechanics.
