Against the sunburst black background, rose-gold hands, indices and bezel trim provide the contrast that makes the whole thing legible at a glance. At 45mm it makes no attempt at subtlety, but 12mm of thickness keeps it from stacking up on the wrist the way a lot of oversized chronographs do — it sits flatter than the diameter suggests. The push-button deployment clasp on the bracelet is adjusted by removing pin-secured links, which is more reliable day to day than the spring-bar systems common at this kind of size.

The Maserati brothers founded their workshop in Bologna in 1914 and built racing cars that won the Targa Florio and the Indianapolis 500. The trident emblem comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
The watches are a licensed line produced by Morellato Group in Italy, not by the carmaker. They draw openly on automotive design: tachymeter bezels, perforated leather straps recalling racing gloves, dashboard-style dials, and case shapes referencing grilles and instrument binnacles.
Movements are quartz and bought-in automatic. The appeal is the association and the styling rather than the mechanics.
