Stepping up in Maserati's range
Traguardo means "finish line" in Italian, and the name is doing real work here: this is Maserati's motorsport vocabulary applied to the wrist, produced under licence by the Morellato Group. The tachymeter bezel is not decorative — it functions as a lap-speed calculator, keeping the racing-instrument theme coherent rather than cosmetic. At 45mm and 191 grams on the wrist, this wears with genuine weight and presence, best suited to a larger wrist that can carry it without the lugs overreaching. The blue dial and matching bezel are the visual anchor, with the two-tone gold PVD and steel running through both case and bracelet so that the colour split reads as a considered scheme rather than an afterthought. Three subdials carry the chronograph counters, and the date sits between four and five o'clock where it stays out of the way of the primary reading. The deployant clasp opens on dual side-push buttons, and link removal is done through traditional pin-and-collar friction links — straightforward to adjust at a jeweller, or at home with the right tool.

Learn more about Maserati
The Maserati brothers founded their workshop in Bologna in 1914 and built racing cars that won the Targa Florio and the Indianapolis 500. The trident emblem comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
The watches are a licensed line produced by Morellato Group in Italy, not by the carmaker. They draw openly on automotive design: tachymeter bezels, perforated leather straps recalling racing gloves, dashboard-style dials, and case shapes referencing grilles and instrument binnacles.
Movements are quartz and bought-in automatic. The appeal is the association and the styling rather than the mechanics.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
22mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's.
