It is the kind of dial that reads clearly at a glance, which suits a chronograph designed to be used rather than admired. At 42mm across and 11.35mm through the case, this sits flat enough to pass under a shirt cuff without ceremony, which is rarer on a steel-bracelet chronograph than it should be. The multi-link Jubilee bracelet adds some weight — the watch runs to 130 grams on the wrist — but the deployant clasp holds it securely and resizing is done by removing links in the conventional way.

The Maserati brothers founded their workshop in Bologna in 1914 and built racing cars that won the Targa Florio and the Indianapolis 500. The trident emblem comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
The watches are a licensed line produced by Morellato Group in Italy, not by the carmaker. They draw openly on automotive design: tachymeter bezels, perforated leather straps recalling racing gloves, dashboard-style dials, and case shapes referencing grilles and instrument binnacles.
Movements are quartz and bought-in automatic. The appeal is the association and the styling rather than the mechanics.
