Stepping up in Olivia Burton's range
Part of Olivia Burton's Celestial collection, this watch is built around the idea of wearing the night sky on your wrist: the black dial carries crystal star markers, a North Star at twelve o'clock, and a moon phase disc at six that rotates through day and night as the hours pass — decorative in intention but mechanically responsive rather than static. At 34mm and just 7.6mm thick, it sits closer to fine jewellery in proportion than to anything bulky, and the three-link gold-tone bracelet — resizable by removing individual links — keeps the whole thing light and flush against the wrist. The folding clasp is tidy enough that the bracelet reads as a single continuous piece when worn.

Learn more about Olivia Burton
Lesa Bennett and Jemma Fennings started Olivia Burton in London in 2012, coming from fashion rather than watchmaking and treating the watch as an accessory to be designed rather than a instrument to be engineered.
That showed in the product: illustrated dials, floral and bee motifs, applied three-dimensional details, mesh and leather straps in soft colours. The bee became the signature, and the brand found a large audience among buyers who wanted something with a point of view at under £200.
Movado Group acquired the company in 2017, placing it alongside Movado, Ebel, Concord and MVMT. Production and distribution run through Movado; the design identity has stayed recognisably its own.
The watches are quartz and the appeal is the artwork, not the movement — which is a fair description of what the brand set out to do in the first place.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
No. At 30m it will survive rain and handwashing, but not submersion of any kind.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as women's, though at 34mm it sits in the range that suits anyone.
