Sixty years after Oris produced its first dive watch, this anniversary edition does something most commemorative releases do not: it goes back to the actual dial of 1965 rather than gesturing vaguely in its direction. The bold Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12 are lifted from the original, rendered in Old Radium Super-LumiNova, and accompanied by the retro Oris logo with "waterproof" printed beneath it — a detail absent from every Oris dial made in the intervening decades. The shorter indices, the luminous starting dot on the bezel in place of the usual triangle, the anniversary engravings on the caseback: these are the choices that separate this reference from the standard Sixty-Five siblings still in the range. At 40mm it sits larger than the 36mm original, with a lug-to-lug of 48mm and a 12.8mm case that carries the double-domed crystal cleanly without reading as thick on the wrist. The bracelet — a three-row rivet design tapering from 19mm — keeps the period feel through to the clasp, and the set includes a black leather strap for those who want the vintage reading taken further. The Calibre 733-1 inside is a Sellita SW200-1 base with a 38-hour reserve: dependable rather than remarkable, which is the correct engine for a watch whose interest lies entirely in the dial.
