Stepping up in Philipp Plein's range
The 44mm round case is finished in gold PVD over stainless steel, sitting 14.4mm thick with a 22mm lug width. A fixed bezel, engraved with the collection name, frames a hardened mineral crystal. Beneath it, the gold dial carries a hexagon pattern across its surface with a crystal skull motif at the centre, alongside luminous hands and markers. A screwed caseback adds a measure of robustness, and the watch is rated to 50 metres. It wears on a white silicone strap fastened with a pin buckle.

Philipp Plein founded his label in Munich in 1998, initially designing furniture before moving into fashion. The brand built itself on deliberate excess and has been divisive throughout.
The watches follow suit: heavy gold and black PVD plating, skull motifs, dense crystal setting, and large cases. Movements are quartz. There is no attempt at horological restraint and none is intended.
The brand knows precisely what it is doing and does it without apology, which at least makes it coherent.
