Stepping up in the same dial colour
The Series 28 is Radley's wearable expression of the brand's broader identity — the Scottie dog appears on the animated dial themes, so the watch reads as Radley in a way that a plain fitness tracker does not. The AMOLED display runs always-on, which removes the slightly awkward wrist-flick that makes most smartwatches obvious to use in company, and the gold-tone case keeps the health-tracking hardware inside something that sits closer to jewellery-end casualwear than to sportswear. The ink-blue leather strap has a silicone backing, which is a practical decision for a watch doing continuous heart rate and activity monitoring — leather against the skin all day becomes uncomfortable in a way the hybrid construction avoids. At 38mm the whole thing stays compact enough for narrower wrists without the bulk that GPS hardware sometimes forces on a case.

Learn more about Radley
Radley London was founded in 1998 as a handbag brand, and named for the founder's Scottish terrier. The dog became the logo, and remains the single most recognisable thing about the label — stamped, embossed, or hanging from a bag as a leather charm.
The watches are licensed rather than manufactured in-house, produced by a specialist watch maker under agreement and sold through the same department stores and jewellers as the bags.
They are designed as accessories to the accessories: slim cases, printed or textured dials, coloured leather straps, and the terrier appearing on the dial, the caseback or the strap keeper. Quartz movements, gift-market pricing.
Radley is a well-run British accessories brand and its watches are exactly what the label suggests they are — coordinated, characterful and inexpensive, rather than horological.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Showering yes, swimming no. 50m covers splashes and brief immersion, but a swimming stroke generates well above the pressure that figure describes.
Will the glass scratch?
It can, over time. Mineral glass handles daily wear but will pick up fine scratches that sapphire would not.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
16mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as women's, though at 38mm it sits in the range that suits anyone.
