A professional diver's watch produced in a worldwide edition of 1,000 pieces, made in collaboration with JAMSTEC and inspired by the icebreaking polar research vessel Mirai II. The 42.6mm stainless steel case, treated with Seiko's Super-Hard coating, measures 14.1mm thick with a 49.3mm lug-to-lug span. A blue ceramic insert sits within the unidirectional rotating bezel. The gradient blue dial carries a textured finish beneath dual-curved sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflective coating, its thick transparent paint polished to a deep lustre. LumiBrite covers the hands, index markers, and bezel pip. The 8L45 automatic runs at 28,800vph with a 72-hour power reserve, rated to +10/−5 seconds per day. The Super-Hard-coated bracelet closes with a three-fold clasp incorporating a push-button release and sliding micro-adjuster. Water resistance is 300m.
