This version marks a significant departure from that lineage: it is the first Speedtimer to run on the 6R automatic calibre rather than a dedicated chronograph movement, and with it comes a countdown bezel function in place of the elapsed-time mechanism. The case shape itself is a quiet piece of history — the flowing lines were first cut for the 1972 reference that collectors call the Panda. At 39.5mm with an 11.95mm depth, this sits unusually flat for a Prospex rated to 200 metres, slim enough to pass under a shirt cuff without catching. The silver-white dial keeps legibility simple, and the LumiBrite triangle on the inner ring means the countdown reference point remains readable once the light drops — a practical detail for anyone using the function rather than admiring it.
