The Seastar 1000 takes its name directly from its depth rating — 1,000 feet, expressed in the cleaner metric figure of 300 metres — and the whole watch is designed around that capability. At 9.97mm thick, it is notably slim for a dive-rated case, which means it actually disappears under a shirt cuff rather than catching on it, and at 40mm it occupies the middle ground between the family's 36mm and 45.5mm siblings without reading as a compromise. The dial is where this reference separates itself from the rest of the Seastar range: a graded red-to-black that shifts under different light, with the date sitting at six rather than the usual three. The all-black PVD treatment — case, bracelet and bezel ring — keeps the red from reading as decorative, giving the whole thing a purposeful, utilitarian weight despite the 134g bracelet construction. The unidirectional bezel and screw-down crown are there for genuine use, and the quick-release system means swapping to a rubber strap for the water is a matter of seconds.
