The PRX traces back to a 1978 Tissot design that sat largely forgotten until the integrated-bracelet aesthetic became one of the more talked-about directions in the market. The 35mm Powermatic 80 exists partly because the 40mm edition carries a structural quirk: its first bracelet link does not articulate, pushing the effective span well past the nominal lug-to-lug figure and making it uncomfortable on a smaller wrist. At 39mm between the lugs, this version sits where the original concept always made most sense. The white mother-of-pearl dial is quieter than most MOP treatments — the waffle pattern keeps it from reading as overtly dressy, which is the point of this particular variant. On the wrist the angled lugs follow the curve naturally, and the bracelet tapers toward the clasp in a way that keeps the overall package neat without pinching. Inside, the ETA Powermatic 80.111 carries an 80-hour power reserve and a Nivachron balance spring, a titanium-based alloy that resists magnetic fields considerably better than a conventional spring — relevant for anyone who spends time near laptops, phones or induction hobs. The power reserve is visible through the caseback, which gives the movement something to show for itself.
