Stepping up in the same dial colour
The PRX began life in 1978 as a quartz watch with an integrated bracelet, was shelved, then revived in 2021 — and it was only after that revival that Tissot added mechanical versions. This 35mm reference arrived in 2023, sitting alongside a 40mm sibling and carrying the waffle-pattern dial that marks the automatic line as distinct from the quartz models. The movement beneath that dial is an ETA C07.111 with a Nivachron hairspring, a titanium-alloy component that shrugs off magnetic interference far more readily than a conventional spring. Eighty hours of reserve and a rate of roughly ±5 seconds per day puts it close to COSC territory without the certification. The see-through caseback makes it worth examining. At 35mm the PRX reads compact on paper, but the integrated bracelet's end-links push the real lug-to-lug to around 45mm, so it fills a wrist more than the case diameter suggests. The satin-finish bracelet tapers from 24mm at the case to 16mm at the deployant clasp, giving it a clean taper that keeps the proportions coherent, and the quick-release system means swapping it out takes seconds. Tissot markets this size as unisex, and it wears that way.
