The PRX line began in 1978, and when Tissot revived it for the modern market the formula was straightforward: integrated proportions, a waffle-textured dial, and an automatic movement with enough reserve to survive a long weekend without winding. This carbon variant keeps that formula but replaces the steel case with forged carbon — not purely for the aesthetics, but because the material requires a steel core where threading would otherwise fail, which is standard practice and changes nothing about how it wears. What it changes is the surface. The marbled black-and-grey of forged carbon reads completely differently from polished or brushed steel; at 40.5mm across and 11.23mm thick, it sits closer to the wrist than most integrated-case watches, and the matte finish flattens the whole thing into something that disappears under a cuff rather than catching light. The lug-to-lug is a genuinely short 40mm, which is the figure that explains why it sits as well as it does regardless of wrist size. The dial indexes carry no lume — only the hands are treated — so at night the watch reads as two bright lines against dark, which is sufficient and honest about what it is. The Powermatic 80.111 inside uses a silicon balance spring — Tissot's Nivachron — which removes the movement's susceptibility to magnetic fields without requiring antimagnetic shielding elsewhere in the case. The 80-hour reserve is visible through the caseback, though the quick-release strap pins are awkward to reach given the lug angle and the caseback's slight protrusion, and anyone who changes straps regularly will notice it.
