The PRC 100 first appeared in the mid-2000s as one of Tissot's more sport-forward designs, and this revival brings it back with something the original never had: a solar movement that removes battery changes from the ownership experience entirely. Microscopic photovoltaic cells sit beneath the dial in a honeycomb arrangement, feeding a rechargeable cell that holds enough charge for fourteen months in the dark — and when reserves finally run low, the second hand shifts to four-second jumps rather than stopping without warning. At 34mm the case carries a twelve-sided bezel that reads as purposeful without being aggressive, and the silver dial keeps things legible without much ceremony — stick indexes, luminous hands, date at three. The 9.14mm case depth is notably restrained for a watch rated to 100 metres, which means the bracelet lies flat and the whole thing tucks under a cuff without the bulk that solar movements sometimes bring with them.
