The Wallace takes its name from the Wallace Collection, the London museum whose gilded interiors and ornate decorative arts run through this watch as directly as a brief. The dial is jacquard-etched in a paisley pattern that reads as textile rather than metal, and the Orb plaque sits at twelve where a crown would on a more conventional piece. The bezel is set entirely with Swarovski crystals, which makes the case itself the ornamentation — a deliberate choice for a house that has never treated jewellery and clothing as separate concerns. At 38mm the proportions are generous without being masculine, and the two-tone bracelet — steel and yellow gold plate — gives the watch the weight of something considered: 110 grams, which is noticeable on the wrist in the way a piece of jewellery is meant to be. The butterfly clasp handles daily fastening cleanly, and link removal by a jeweller brings the fit to wherever it needs to be.

Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren opened a shop at 430 King's Road in 1971, and over the next few years it became the outfitter of British punk. Westwood went on to become one of the most decorated designers Britain has produced, with the orb logo — a sovereign's orb with a Saturn ring — as the house signature from 1987.
The watches are licensed rather than made in-house, produced under agreement by a British accessories manufacturer and sold through department stores and jewellers.
They carry the house language directly: the orb on the crown or the dial, tartan and heritage-check straps, asymmetric cases, and a willingness to be decorative that most watch brands avoid. Quartz movements, fashion pricing.
