The Mega Chief line has always been Diesel's unambiguous answer to the question of how much watch a wrist can hold. The DZ4495 sits squarely in that tradition: 51mm across, 59mm lug to lug, and 127 grams of black PVD steel before the strap is even buckled. This is not a watch that arrives without announcement. The green sunray dial is the one decision that keeps it from reading as pure aggression. Against the matte black case and hardware, the texture catches light at an angle and shifts in a way a flat colour never would. The architectural guard element bracketing the right flank — Diesel's signature on this line — frames the date aperture and gives the case its particular silhouette. At 26mm, the lug width takes a substantial strap, and the pin buckle keeps adjustment straightforward without introducing any mechanical complication.

Renzo Rosso founded Diesel in Molvena in 1978, building a denim brand on deliberate irreverence. The watches, produced under licence by Fossil Group, carry that attitude directly.
Where most fashion watches aim for restraint, Diesel does the opposite: oversized cases frequently past 50mm, blacked-out finishes, exposed screws, multiple crowns, and dials that prioritise visual impact over legibility. The Mr Daddy models stack four time zones onto a single dial.
Whether that appeals is a matter of taste, but the design intent is consistent and unmistakable, which is more than can be said for much of the category.
