Diesel's Spiked collection is built around one clear intention: making something too large and too gold to be ignored. At 49mm this is unapologetically oversized, and the sunray gold dial at that scale catches even diffuse light with real force. On the wrist it reads closer to a fashion object than a conventional chronograph. The bracelet at 24mm keeps the proportions cohesive rather than letting the case float on a narrower band, and the deployant clasp means day-to-day wearing is more considered than a buckle strap would allow.

Renzo Rosso founded Diesel in Molvena in 1978, building a denim brand on deliberate irreverence. The watches, produced under licence by Fossil Group, carry that attitude directly.
Where most fashion watches aim for restraint, Diesel does the opposite: oversized cases frequently past 50mm, blacked-out finishes, exposed screws, multiple crowns, and dials that prioritise visual impact over legibility. The Mr Daddy models stack four time zones onto a single dial.
Whether that appeals is a matter of taste, but the design intent is consistent and unmistakable, which is more than can be said for much of the category.
