Girard-Perregaux Cat's Eye Small Seconds 35mm Ladies Watch
Ref. 80484D52A761-BK7A
Sits in Girard-Perregaux’s upper tier here — more premium than three quarters of the Girard-Perregaux watches we list, which start at £7,900.
Price range £7,900 to £146,000 across 29 Girard-Perregaux watches in stock. The Cat's Eye collection arrived in 2004 built around a single conviction: that an oval case, worn vertically on the wrist, suits the proportions of a woman's hand in a way a round case rarely does. Two decades on, the shape remains GP's most recognisable commitment to a form that the broader industry mostly abandoned after the quartz crisis. At 35.4mm by 30.4mm, the oval reads narrower across the wrist than its longer dimension suggests, and the mother-of-pearl dial shifts between cool white and warmer iridescence depending on where the light falls. Seventy brilliant-cut diamonds set into the bezel account for 0.91 carats in total, and the leaf-shaped hands — pink gold, like the case — keep the dial legible where a less considered design might let the stones overwhelm it. The small seconds subdial echoes the case outline, a detail that rewards the kind of attention this watch invites. Flipping it over reveals a sapphire caseback through which the rotor is visible, its pink gold mass engraved with the maison's logo in a repeating pattern — finishing that has no audience except the owner, which is usually the sign that it has been done properly.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
No. At 30m it will survive rain and handwashing, but not submersion of any kind.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — the motion of your wrist winds it, and there is no cell to replace.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as women's, though at 35mm it sits in the range that suits anyone.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
