The full hunter form has its own logic: when you cannot trust a pocket not to scratch a crystal, you close the lid. This is a traditional execution of that idea — a sprung front cover that snaps shut over the dial and releases cleanly from the crown button, a 17-jewel hand-wound movement that asks for a moment's winding each morning, and a small seconds subdial sitting at six o'clock in the manner the format has observed for well over a century. The silver sunburst dial sets dark blue Roman numerals and midnight blue hands against it, a combination that reads clearly at a glance and has some elegance to it when the lid is open. At 50mm the case sits comfortably in the palm, and it comes with an Albert chain that lets it be worn properly rather than carried loose. The leatherette pouch is a practical touch for travel or storage.
