Stepping up in Norqain's range
Norqain launched as an independent Swiss brand in 2018 with a stated ambition to build proper sport watches without the infrastructure of a century-old manufacture behind them. The Adventure line is where that ambition is most honestly tested. The green dial here is not a flat colour wash but a textured mountain-pattern surface that shifts considerably depending on the angle of light — closer to forest green in shade, and more complex than that in direct sun. At 40mm with a 48.3mm lug-to-lug, it sits trimly on the wrist without reading small, and the brushed tool-steel bracelet keeps the whole thing purposeful in character. The N08 calibre — Sellita SW 200-1 at its core, but COSC-certified and fitted with a custom-decorated skeletonised rotor — is a meaningful step beyond a base-spec movement: chronometer-rated precision housed in something that actually sees use. The detail worth noting on closer acquaintance is the NORQAIN plate screwed into the left flank of the case, a small customisable signature that separates the brand's watches from anything else in this category. The lume capsule set into the bezel track at twelve and the lume-filled faceted hands charge well and read clearly, which matters when 200m of water resistance implies the watch will actually be submerged.
