Stepping up in Norqain's range
The Independence Skeleton began life at 42mm; this is the version Norqain drew smaller for wrists that found the original a fraction too commanding. At 40mm with a 46.3mm lug-to-lug span, it sits close and settled rather than perched, and 12.05mm of thickness is genuinely restrained for a skeletonised watch with this much going on beneath the dial. The NB08S inside is a COSC-certified movement built on Sellita's SW200-1S architecture, which means a proven, serviceable base dressed with Norqain's own rotor and rhodium-plated bridges that the open main plate puts on permanent display. Through the anthracite dial the bridges read as a composed mechanical landscape rather than a tangle, and diamond-cut hands carry enough faceting to catch light and hold legibility. The turquoise seconds hand and matching minute-track accents are the only colour in the picture — a considered amount. The rubber strap has a Milanese mesh texture pressed into it, which keeps the grip of rubber without looking purely functional against the case. The engraved plate on the left flank of the case can be personalised, a small detail that becomes the thing an owner tends to notice and mention.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — the motion of your wrist winds it, and there is no cell to replace.
What size strap does it take?
20mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Will it fit my wrist?
Lug-to-lug is 46.30mm, which suits wrists from roughly 16cm (6¼ inches) upward.
Lug-to-lug decides fit more than case diameter does.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's, though at 40mm it sits in the range that suits anyone.
