The case is not simply carbon fibre: a NORTEQ carbon cage houses a sandblasted titanium container, with a gecko green rubber shock absorber sitting between the two — a visible, functional layer that gives the construction its nickname and its colour. At 78 grams across 42mm, it is remarkably light in the hand, the kind of watch that surprises people who pick it up expecting the heft its presence suggests. The N08S beneath the open dial is built in partnership with Kenissi and carries COSC chronometer certification — the same movement architecture that underpins some considerably more expensive Swiss automatics. Through the skeleton layout, the 26-ruby movement is readable in a way that skeleton dials often are not, partly because the indexes are diamond-cut and rhodium-plated, and partly because the gecko green X1 Super-LumiNova on the hands cuts through the visual complexity of the bridges beneath. The same green runs through the Milanese-patterned rubber strap and the internal shock absorber, so the colour reads as structural rather than decorative. The customisable plate on the left flank of the case is a small detail that owners either use or quietly ignore, but it signals that Norqain built this watch to be handled rather than preserved.
