Stepping up in the same colour and case shape
The Aquis was already a capable diver before Oris turned it into a project in 2024. Rather than a full replacement, they ran a careful revision through the collection — reworking the lugs into a more sculpted profile that follows the wrist rather than bridging it, and tapering the crown protectors so they close more neatly around the screw-down crown. The result is a 43.5mm case that reviewers consistently describe as wearing smaller than it measures, the lugs doing the ergonomic work that case diameter alone cannot. The blue sunburst dial shifts noticeably under different light, and the shield-shaped markers give it more character than the flat indices common at this size. That dial pairs with a dark blue ceramic bezel — the same deep tone, brushed and polished — so the whole face reads as a coordinated thing rather than a collection of components. The bracelet carries a micro-adjust system and a clasp with a wetsuit extension, which means the fit you dial in on a Tuesday morning is not the one you are fighting with over a drysuit in January. The Calibre 733 inside is not the in-house 400 series Oris fitted to some 2024 Aquis references, and the 41-hour power reserve reflects that. It is a perfectly solid movement for what this watch is; the caseback has a mineral glass display window if you want to look at it.
