The Presage Classic Series takes its design language from Japanese craft tradition rather than European watchmaking convention, and the Sensaicha — the name refers to the grey-green of a particular shade of Japanese tea — sits at the more considered end of that project. The dial texture is drawn from silk, a material whose surface catches and scatters light differently depending on the angle, and the curved hands and indices are shaped to work with that quality rather than against it. None of this is incidental; the whole dial is built around what happens when light moves across it. The seven-row bracelet references the chunky metal bracelets of 1970s Japanese dress watches, but the individual links are kept short enough — 6mm each — that the result moves with the wrist rather than sitting rigidly across it. At 40mm the case is an easy fit for a wide range of wrists, and the 6R55 movement behind it offers a 72-hour power reserve, which means a watch worn Monday to Friday will still be running on Sunday morning after a weekend off the wrist.
