Reinterpreting Seiko's 1968 professional diver, the SLA079J1 wears its 42.6mm stainless steel case across a lug-to-lug span of 49.3mm, with a thickness of 13.4mm. The super-hard coated case carries a screw-down crown and solid screw caseback rated to 300 metres. A 120-click unidirectional rotating bezel with a lacquered steel insert sits above a textured black dial with a subtle sand-like pattern; LumiBrite covers the hands, indices, and bezel. The dual-curved sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating on its inner surface. Inside, the hand-assembled calibre 8L35 beats at 28,800vph with a 50-hour power reserve and hacking seconds. A five-row stainless steel bracelet with a three-fold clasp, push-button release, and diver's extension completes the watch, which weighs 196 grams in total.
