Diesel's Mr. Daddy line has always operated at the outer edge of what a wristwatch can plausibly be, and the DZ7396 makes no attempt to moderate that. At 57mm it is a deliberate provocation — four time zones displayed simultaneously on a black dial packed with subdials, a bracelet wide enough to match the case. The design is not trying to go unnoticed. On the wrist it reads as armour rather than accessory. The all-black PVD finish absorbs light rather than catching it, which keeps the bulk from feeling gaudy, and the deployant clasp gives a secure, flat fit that stops a case this size from rocking. The dial is dense but structured — each zone has its own territory, and the hierarchy between the main time and the chronograph registers is clear enough to navigate quickly.

Renzo Rosso founded Diesel in Molvena in 1978, building a denim brand on deliberate irreverence. The watches, produced under licence by Fossil Group, carry that attitude directly.
Where most fashion watches aim for restraint, Diesel does the opposite: oversized cases frequently past 50mm, blacked-out finishes, exposed screws, multiple crowns, and dials that prioritise visual impact over legibility. The Mr Daddy models stack four time zones onto a single dial.
Whether that appeals is a matter of taste, but the design intent is consistent and unmistakable, which is more than can be said for much of the category.
