That distinction is the reason this variant exists. At 38mm and 29 grams it sits very lightly on the wrist, and the sizing range of 110mm to 175mm reflects a genuine fit for smaller wrists rather than a scaled-down version of something built for larger ones. The patterned lens conceals the display entirely at rest; it reads as a conventional watch face until a wrist turn or tap wakes the greyscale screen beneath. The matched Jasper Green across case, strap and dial gives the whole thing a considered, coordinated appearance. Gary Burrell and Min Kao founded Garmin in 1989 — the name is a contraction of their first names — to build GPS receivers for aviation and marine use. Consumer navigation came later, and wearables later still.
