The asymmetric polygon case that defines the Maestro line was drawn by Gérald Charles Genta, the designer behind some of the most recognisable shapes in twentieth-century watchmaking. Gerald Charles, the house that carries his name forward, built the 2.0 around that silhouette and paired it with the GCA 3002 — a movement developed with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, one of the few independent movement houses in Switzerland that finishes to genuine haute horlogerie standard. At 3.7mm thick, the movement is what holds the case to 8.7mm: unusually flat for a sports watch rated to 100m, and slim enough to move under a cuff without protest. The emerald green sunburst dial shifts register depending on the angle — cooler and darker head-on, warmer and more saturated when the light catches it obliquely. The rubber strap carries the Clous de Paris pyramid texture on the outer face, which echoes the geometry of the case itself; turn it over and there is a tapisserie layout in the GC house pattern. The open caseback puts the Côtes de Genève striping and colimaçon finishing on display, decoration that would normally be hidden and here is clearly not an afterthought.
