The Model 2000 draws on Gucci's own archive rather than any single founding moment — the name gestures at the house's watch heritage, and the detailing carries that through: shrouded lugs, a fluted crown bearing the Gucci emblem, Roman numerals at three positions only, and an interlocking G in rose gold-tone sitting above the brand name at twelve. The guilloché dial gives the silver surface a fine radial texture that shifts with the light in a way a plain dial does not. At 30mm it is compact without apology, and the pink leather strap keeps the whole thing squarely in jewellery territory. The antireflective coating on the sapphire does useful work here — a decorative watch at this scale is often held closer and at more varied angles than a sports piece, and the coating means the dial stays readable rather than becoming a mirror.
